Breaking Down Learning: A Guide to Scaffolding and Other Practices
Event Actions
The way we structure or “break-up” course content—concepts, assignments, and even class time—can have an impact on how our students learn.
If learners “get lost,” lose motivation, or make structural mistakes on assignment or projects early on, we can restructure upcoming content to bring those learners back into the fold. During this workshop, we will discuss cognitive load as well techniques (scaffolding, sequencing, cognitive breaks) that can be implemented to do just that.
