Dr. Brenda M. Greene will deliver the annual James Baldwin Distinguished Lecture on Literary and Social Criticism entitled “The Fire This Time: Creating a Space for Good Trouble.”
Drawing on the late Congressman John Lewis’ motto of “Making Good Trouble,” James Baldwin’s The Fire Next Time, and Jesmyn Ward’s anthology, The Fire This Time, Greene will discuss how the principles underlying this work offer strategies for promoting anti-racism and addressing issues of inclusion and equity in the academy.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
