LGBTQ+ History Month Photo Scavenger Hunt
Event Actions
October is LGBTQ+ History Month in the United States. In recognition of that, the Multicultural Center is challenging the Adelphi community to explore the LGBTQ+ History in our own backyards by participating in a photo scavenger hunt around our Garden City Campus, Nassau County, and the 5 Boroughs.
How to Participate
Feel free to participate by yourself or on a team of up to 4 Adelphi community members including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Together you will decipher the list of 20 clues to identify sites related to LGBTQ+ history, and when you’re ready, start hunting, take a photo at as many sites as you can before the month is over, and submit them to earn points. All photos must be submitted by Wednesday, November 1st at 12:00 PM in order to earn points. The individual or team with the most points at the end will win $50 Amazon gift cards!!! While we encourage bringing family and friends from outside of the Adelphi community along on your adventures, the prizes may only be claimed by Adelphi community members.
Ready to play? Start with the list of clues!

Extra Tips
- If you are competing on a team, at least 2 members of your team must be in each photo for it to count for points
- Try to get a logo or some other recognizable feature in the photos
- You do not need to go inside the locations, but you can go learn and explore inside many of them
- Don’t wait too long to submit your photos. You have all month, but you can submit to the form multiple times and if there is a tie, the winner will be decided by who submitted their photos first.
