A Community Interest Group for faculty and staff of Adelphi University.
The Offices of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging and Human Resources launched Adelphi Community Interest Groups for Faculty and Staff to help deepen our employees’ sense of belonging and enhance their connection to the University and each other.
Beginning in December 2022 with five pilot groups, all faculty and staff who share an affinity for these specific interests and experiences are welcome to join:
- Employees of color
- LGBTQIA+ employees
- Employees who serve as caregivers
- Employees who are new to Adelphi or in their current role for three years or less
- Employees who are also students
Meeting Format and Frequency
The launch meeting for each group will take place in person at Adelphi’s Multicultural Center on the third floor of the Ruth S. Harley University Center—see dates below.
After the initial meeting of each group, members may determine a preferred format (in-person, on Zoom, or hybrid) and frequency (once to twice a month is recommended).
First Meeting Schedule:

Monday, December 12 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. -
LGBTQIA+ Employees
Tuesday, December 13 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. -
Employees who serve as Caregivers
Wednesday, December 14 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. -
Employees who are new to Adelphi, or in their current role for three years or less
Thursday, December 15 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. -
Employees who are also students
Friday, December 16 from 12:00–1:00 p.m.
