October Out for Lunch with Scott Zotto
Event Actions
Out for Lunch is an informal conversation series with staff and faculty members and allows students to meet LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff and administrators in a casual space.
The purpose of the series is to provide an opportunity for students to hear from faculty, staff, and administrators in the LGBTQ+ community about their life experiences, careers, successes and challenges in an intimate setting. All university students are welcome to attend the Out for Lunch series. For this lunch, we will be talking with Scott Zotto, Associate Director of the Student Counseling Center.
About the Speaker
Scott Zotto (’03, ’09) is the associate director for Adelphi’s Student Counseling Center. He is a licensed clinical social worker, an adjunct professor in the School of Social Work, and has a private practice in NYC working, primarily, with the LGBTQIA+ community. In addition, he served as chairperson for Adelphi Pride, a committee of amazing Adelphi folks committed to improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff, administrators, students, and alumni.
Scott is particularly interested in understanding and exploring the idea of joy in the LGBTQIA+ community. What does it look like to everyone and what does the word joy even mean. It may seem elusive and unattainable to some and Scott would like to know more about that, so this discussion will involve an interactive component to encourage students to talk about there experiences as well as hearing Scott’s.
Please feel free to bring lunch to eat while we engage in conversation.
