Book Talk: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us
Event Actions
This workshop is for Adelphi University faculty. Facilitated by Kevin Mobbs.
A New York Times bestseller, Daniel Pink’s Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us (2009) summarizes and applies decades of research on human motivation. Calling into question our assumptions of motivating others, Pink offers suggestions for aligning motivation techniques with the tasks at hand. Three elements of true motivation (autonomy, mastery, and purpose) may be the basis for developing a motivation plan for students in your courses. In this book discussion, learn more about motivation techniques based on Pink’s writings and then read the book for yourself.
