At this year’s event, we welcome Ben Kenyon ’06, Philadelphia 76ers head strength coach, CEO/founder of Great Day Squad and former Adelphi men’s basketball team member.
Ben Kenyon will join Kevin Dexter to discuss his path to where he is today, including his career at Adelphi before making it to the big leagues.
About Ben Kenyon ’06
Kenyon was a four-year member of the men’s basketball program from 2002-2006, helping the Panthers to three NCAA Division II tournament appearances. In four seasons, he appeared in 110 games amassing 500 points and 234 rebounds. The 6-2 guard also chipped in 71 steals and 14 blocks in his time in an Adelphi uniform.
After earning a degree in sports management from Adelphi, Kenyon gained experience at the collegiate level with stints at Rutgers and the University of Florida before landing as the Assistant Athletics Director for Strength and Conditioning at George Washington University in the fall of 2008. He spent the next five years with the Colonials, overseeing the strength and conditioning and nutrition efforts for all 23 varsity sports.
The Hillside, New Jersey native has worked in the NBA for nine years and has spent 16 years as a Performance coach, learning how to navigate and perform in high-stress environments. He’s also coached and motivated NBA All-stars, CEO’s, C-suite level executives & middle management to thrive in a high performing environment. Before starting with the Philadelphia 76ers in November of 2020 as the program’s lead performance coach, Kenyon launched his company – The Great Day Squad – a group dedicated to creating a collective shift in consciousness, focusing on increasing confidence, mental wellness, and meaningful connections.
