The seminar introduces candidates to the study of trauma, a brief history of treatments across populations with an emphasis on the unique contributions of psychoanalysis. Candidates will discuss overarching themes including: the medicalization of trauma “symptoms”; cultural prohibitions to discussing trauma; the quest for “cures” and inoculations; the limits of strictly verbal/cognitive treatment.
Thomas J. McGoldrick, PhD
Dr. Thomas McGoldrick is the clinic director of the US Department of Veterans Affairs Readjustment Counseling Service on Staten Island. He has worked with combat veterans and their families for the past 30 years.

Cancellation Policy
Full refunds are issued for cancellations made up to 7 working days before the event. Cancellations of less than 7 days for any reason, or no-shows are not refunded. Credit towards a future event/workshop are issued for cancellations less than 7 days and up to 24 hours before the event. No credit is issued for cancellations less than 24 hours before the events or no-shows.
