Marissa Abram, PhD, PMHNP-BC, CARN-AP
Marissa Abram is an Assistant Professor at Adelphi University College of Nursing and Public Health. She is a PhD prepared Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner currently practicing in Emergency Psychiatry at Northwell Health. She also works in close partnership with the Town of Babylon in the Drug and Alcohol Division on co-occurring disorders.
She is the founder of Strategic Wellness Management, a private mental health practice. Dr. Abram’s research interests are focused on the delivery of care within the substance use treatment setting and best practice in educating the future workforce in the care of the individual with substance use disorders. She serves on the Nurses’ Advisory Panel for NYS Office of Addiction Supports and Services.
She has a passion for patient safety and as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Pulse Center for Patient Safety, she is committed to raising awareness about patient safety through education, advocacy and support.
Notably, Dr. Abram received Modern Healthcare’s 2017 Excellence in Nursing: Rising Star Award and has most recently become a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.
