Vincent C. Tizzio is the president & chief executive officer (CEO) of Navigators Management Company, Inc.
He is recognized as a seasoned leader in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry. He joined the Navigators Management Company, Inc. (NMC), a division of The Navigators Group, Inc., in July 2012 as President & CEO. Since that time, has led the U.S. business successfully. He has added new products, enhanced the company’s profitability, and has broadened its field offices to significant expansion and growth.
Prior to running NMC, Mr. Tizzio was Executive Vice President of Zurich North America from 2008 to 2012, where he led its Commercial Markets business unit, overseeing over a $3 billion portfolio with over 1100 market-facing underwriters, claims, and operations staff members in the US and Canada. In this role, he created a business unit to grow the Small Medium Enterprise (SME) segment, launched the organization’s first select broker model, and further developed the industry vertical model for the unit, producing double-digit growth and significant profitability gains each year under his leadership.
Prior to joining Zurich, Mr. Tizzio spent 16 years with American International Group, during which he held a number of Executive responsibilities. He was charged with the creation of two subsidiaries creating capabilities in the Merger & Acquisitions and Small Commercial insurance space – which was industry leading and pioneering for AIG.
Mr. Tizzio is a graduate of Adelphi University, with a B.A. in Finance and Sociology. He is actively involved with several community organizations, including Freedom House Board of Trustees, Saint Peters College Board of Regents. He is also an advocate for the war on hunger and devotes his time and energy through Live Belly Farm. This organization is dedicated to raising awareness and resources to combat hunger, particularly among children.
Mr. & Mrs. Tizzio make their home in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey and have 7 children.
