Student Worker of the Month for July 2015
Zach works with the Network Technicians and often provides on-site support at the Manhattan Center.
Here are some of the comments we received from IT staff members and other student workers who nominated him:
““Zach is always willing to help others while taking on additional responsibilities; learning from his peers and colleagues. You often hear Zach in our IT hallway asking various team members how he can further assist them. Most recently, he’s been instrumental assisting the administrative staff at our Manhattan Center. ”“Zach has come a long way since he started working with us. I still remember that he was just a high school kid that needed a job to get by, or purely out of boredom, to take on the NetTech student-worker position. Since then, his on the job performance and attitude have been improving steadily. I now entrusted him to take on a lead role when setting up events, the important ones, like freshmen orientation and open houses. I also rely on him to double-check other students’ work when I’m unable to do so.”
“Zach has demonstrated excellent problem resolution, troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills during his time here at Adelphi. His assistance at Adelphi’s Manhattan center has been a great help for us here in Garden City as well as the user’ in Manhattan. Zach also regularly goes above and beyond what is asked of him, and addresses or escalates issues that may not be his responsibility.”
About IT’s Employee of the Month Nominations
It is important to demonstrate our appreciation for the contributions of our student workers to their teams, to the Office of Information Technology, and to Adelphi University as a whole. At the end of each month, we will honor one student worker who has demonstrated commitment, leadership, and initiative in their position. The recipient will be presented with a certificate and gift, as well as a featured spot on our IT website.
All IT employees (including student workers) are encouraged to submit nominations for their choice for Student Worker of the Month. Your nominee should display qualities deserving of recognition.
