Professor of Biology George K. Russell, Ph.D., recently published what celebrated primatologist Jane Goodall, Ph.D., praised as “a very important book” discussing the need to immerse children in nature to improve their overall well-being and appreciation for the environment. Did you know?

* Adelphi uses 100 percent green power.

* Solar panels on the roof of Adelphi’s Swirbul Library have generated more than 235,000 kilowatt hours of energy and offset more than 293,000 pounds of carbon dioxide.

* Adelphi’s grounds-keeping practices are entirely organic and pesticide-free. 

* A new heat and power plant that is being installed on Adelphi’s Garden City campus is projected to save $1.6 million annually in energy costs.

* As part of Fresh Air Adelphi, the University offers a rideshare program—Panther Share—and has installed electric vehicle charging stations in its underground garage.
