A senior acting major from Bloomfield, Connecticut, and proudly calls Adelphi University her home away from home.
Tonille Simone Watkis hails from Bloomfield, Connecticut and proudly calls Long Island her home away from home. Tonille’s affinity for the arts began at a very young age when she would sing into the broom handle in her kitchen with her mom as her audience. She took dance lessons in various styles until she went to high school where her interest in acting grew as she began starring in the school plays. Since then, Tonille has attended Adelphi University where she has gained the tools necessary to strengthen her vocal, movement and text analysis skills which have further developed her talent.
Tonille also took advantage of a great opportunity to study abroad at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) for a semester. There, she participated in a classical acting intensive which further solidified the foundation for her art, built at Adelphi. As graduation approaches, her creative interests have broadened. She has written a one woman show, Shards of Me and has been performing it at Middle and High schools, as well as various other venues around Connecticut and New York. She is looking forward to cultivating her many talents on stage, in film, television, voice-over and any other creative outlets she can find!
