Dean O'Riley talks about a successful 2013–2014.
Hello University College Students, Alumni, and Friends,
As spring returns after a particularly harsh winter this year, our thoughts turn to the end of the semester and graduation. This has been another exciting year in University College. We will be thrilled to see the 40th graduating class of UC students receive their degrees this May. They will join a network of more than 7,000 UC alumni worldwide who have used their UC degree to further their personal, professional and academic pursuits.
This summer, University College partners with the Adelphi’s College of Nursing and Public Health to launch an online version of the master’s in healthcare informatics. Later this fall we will also be launching an online version of our master’s in emergency management program. Both of these online programs will enable UC to reach more students and communities than ever before.
This summer will also see the continued expansion of our popular Pre-College intensive programs. We are adding credit-bearing Pre-College programs in creative writing and physics to our existing programs in musical theatre, nursing, video game design and business. These two-week, residential intensive programs allow high school students entering their junior and senior years to explore areas of study, and New York City, while they stay at our beautiful Garden City campus.
Finally, we continue to offer a wide range of non-credit programs through our Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development. Test preparation, studio art, real estate, health care and technology are just a few of the fields of study we offer throughout the year. Visit continuing-education.adelphi.
We look forward to seeing you on campus, in class and at our upcoming student and alumni events throughout the spring and summer.
Best wishes,
Shawn O’Riley, Ed.D.
