Lead Help Desk Assistant/Residential Computer Associate
Olivia joined the Help Desk as an entry level Lab Consultant in June 2011, the summer before she entered Adelphi as a freshman accounting major.
Besides handling phone requests and net tech duties Olivia also provides training assistance to administration and students. During the roll out of AU Gmail, Olivia was one of the very few student employees who directly assisted the full time staff in visiting many administrative offices and providing hands on training.
Olivia also conducts student technology workshops to assist students and alumni with any technology related questions or specific computer training.

“Olivia is a very kind and diligent worker. You rarely see her without a smile on her face. She is always willing to lend a hand and is a great role model to her fellow student workers. “I have spoken with Olivia on the phone during a number of periods of network outage/problems. She has been extremely helpful, quick to take technical direction, and willing to do whatever necessary to help the University. Her phone manner is exceedingly pleasant.”
“She learned the ropes quickly at both the HelpDesk and with the Net Techs and the full time staff recognized that Olivia had great customer service skills and a very friendly and helpful personality in addition to learning the technology very easily. Bottom line is that we are fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented student employee working together with our service and support teams. “

About IT’s Employee of the Month Nominations
It is important to demonstrate our appreciation for the contributions of our student workers to their teams, to the Office of Information Technology, and to Adelphi University as a whole. At the end of each month, we will honor one student worker who has demonstrated commitment, leadership, and initiative in their position. The recipient will be presented with a certificate and gift, as well as a featured spot on our IT website.
All IT employees (including student workers) are encouraged to submit nominations for their choice for Student Worker of the Month. Your nominee should display qualities deserving of recognition.
