Temple Grandin, Peter Orszag and Andrew Solomon at Adelphi

Temple Grandin—the acclaimed author and autism activist —will present her lecture, “The World Needs All Kinds of Minds,” on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. 

Due to overwhelming demand, tickets for the Temple Grandin lecture are available for the simulcast only. The simulcast will be presented live in the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center Concert Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Economist Peter Orszag––vice chairman of corporate and investment banking, chairman of the Public Sector Group and chairman of the Financial Strategy and Solutions Group at Citigroup, Inc., who was the director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Barack Obama––will discuss “Corporate America meets Behavioral Economics” on Monday, October 7, 2013, at 6:00 p.m., as sponsored by the Erna S. Lovely endowed Lecture Series.

On Monday, December 2, 2013, at 7.00 p.m., Andrew Solomon—who won the National Book Award for his book, The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression—will discuss his critically-acclaimed new book: Far From the Tree: Parents, Children & the Search for Identity. Far From the Tree examines the means by which families accommodate children with physical, mental and social disabilities and how these unusual situations can be invested with love.
