Adelphi Mourns the Loss of John Bierwirth

Adelphi University notes with sadness the death of John Bierwirth, who passed away on May 26, 2013 at the age of 89. Mr. Bierwirth, a former chairman and chief executive officer of Grumman Corp., provided years of leadership and guidance to Adelphi, having served as a member of the University’s Board of Trustees from 1997 to 2009. For his extraordinary dedication, Mr. Bierwirth was elected unanimously Trustee Emeritus. Adelphi is grateful for the outstanding commitment, friendship, and philanthropic support Mr. Bierwith generously provided the University through the years. Adelphi extends its deepest sympathy to the members of the Bierwirth family.
