Through performance, Shinice opened up and discovered elements of herself she had never known existed.
Shinice Hemmings was born and raised in White Plains, New York. She grew up in a Jamaican household where music flowed constantly and influenced her singing ability. However, growing up, Shinice was painfully shy. Her high school guidance counselor suggested she audition for the school play and, to her surprise, she received a role. Since then, Shinice fell in love with acting and it became her passion. She loved the essence of performance and being on stage as another person. Through performance, Shinice opened up and discovered elements of herself she had never known existed. Always willing to experience and learn new things, she completed a summer theater program at SUNY Purchase Summer Theatre Program and, last summer, took an acting workshop at Lights Camera Action Studios. Shinice is excited to experience different types and age ranges. She is interested in film, TV, commercial, voiceover work and, of course, theater.
