BCI curriculum integrated into Emergency Management program
BCI curriculum to be woven into Adelphi’s Emergency Management graduate program
Adelphi University’s Emergency Management Graduate Program is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Business Continuity Institute (BCI). The BCI was established in 1994 to enable members to obtain guidance and support from fellow business continuity practitioners. Through its Certification Scheme, the Institute provides internationally recognized status to its members; professional membership of the BCI provides unequivocal global assurance of technical and professional competency in business continuity. The BCI has over 8,000 members in over 100 countries in an estimated 3,000 organizations.
This new partnership will add value to the previously established business continuity course—the BCI’s curriculum will be woven into the graduate course such that on completion, students will be able to take the Certificate of the BCI Examination that tests a candidate’s knowledge of the Good Practice Guidelines (GPG), the comprehensive, independent body of knowledge for business continuity and provides the launching pad for Statutory membership of the Institute. As Superstorm Sandy reminded us, business continuity is extremely important for recovery of a region affected by interruptions, both large and small.
