On December 5, 2012, Adelphi University Robert B. Willumstad School of Business kicked off a series of ongoing forums with the theme The 2012 Election is Over — Now What?, coordinated by Visiting Professor and Senior Executive-in-Residence Michael J. Driscoll M.B.A. ’89.
Professor Driscoll was joined by alumnus Thomas J. Donohue M.B.A. ’65, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce who discussed the current national debt crisis and pending “fiscal cliff” situation. Also on the panel were Robert B. Willumstad ’05 (Hon.), Adelphi University Board of Trustees Chairman who talked about the finance job market and how government regulations and the elections effect that industry; Thomas McGinn, MD, chair of medicine at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) and LIJ Medical Center gave a viewpoint on the consolidation of medical practice in this country. He talked from his vantage point of being a leader at one of the biggest healthcare systems in the region; Retired CIA operative and current executive at J.P. Morgan Chase, Christopher Gouzca gave insight on the state of foreign affairs.
The presentations were followed by a question and answer session with the audience that included students from the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business and members of the local business community.
