Adelphi's mobility efforts showcased at Denver conference
The use of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets has changed the way we deliver computer applications to students and faculty at Adelphi over the last few years. Today’s users expect access to information at anytime and anywhere. Adelphi’s Office of Information Technology has been addressing that demand by continually increasing the number of applications available through AU2Go (m.adelphi.edu).
The work done at Adelphi was showcased at the Educause 2012 Conference in Denver, where Adelphi IT staff presented insights on that topic to a national audience of educators. Scott Finkelstein, Manager of Web Technologies, and Michael DiCrescio, Associate Director of Enterprise Information Systems, led sessions on “The Next Phase of Mobility” and a discussion on “Web Portals” at Educause on November 7 and 8, 2012.
At the mobility session, Finkelstein and Discrescio discussed with leaders from other universities the technology, support, and governance behind Adelphi University’s authenticated mobile applications.
Through the conference, Adelphi’s IT staff were also able to connect with professional from other universities who can offer ongoing insight to achieve further expansion of Adelphi’s mobile reach.
