October is Cyber Security Month - Get Tips and Protect Yourself

Don’t become a victim of identity theft—protect yourself.

Sure, technology has made it easier, faster, and more convenient to connect to information, but our dependence on the Internet also makes us more vulnerable to information security threats.

This October marks the ninth year of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, an initiative launched by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Aligning with this campaign, Adelphi IT urges everyone at the University to take responsibility for protecting your digital resources, whether personal, academic, or professional. 

During this first week of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, we would like you to focus your attention to how you use passwords, what you click on in emails, texts, and on the Web, and how to secure your communications. The newly redesigned it.adelphi.edu has practical tips on Password Safety, Social Media, Viruses, Phishing, Spyware, and more. 

Don’t wait until something bad happens, make sure you are computing safely from the start.
