Psychologist Grace Pilcer

Adelphi University is proud to welcome Grace Pilcer M.A. ’79, Ph.D. ’84 to its Board of Trustees. Dr. Pilcer previously served on Adelphi’s President’s Advisory Group, and has been a supporter of the University’s fundraising efforts since 1985.
Dr. Pilcer has been a psychologist in private practice since 1984. For more than 18 years, she has been a consulting psychologist to several private schools in Manhattan, including the Notre Dame School and St. Ignatius Loyola School. Since 2002, she has served on the board at Notre Dame and as chair of the School Life Committee. She also served on the National Parents Committee at the Johns Hopkins University from 2005 to 2010, as well as on the fundraising board of the Dalton School in New York City from 2002 to 2007.
“I value the outstanding education I received at Adelphi and am eager to give back to my alma mater. It is a privilege to join the distinguished group currently serving on the Board of Trustees,” says Dr. Pilcer.
Dr. Pilcer received a bachelor’s degree in English from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She earned a master’s degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology at Adelphi’s Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. Currently, Dr. Pilcer lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.
